Welcome to the Mer Lab

We are a computational biology, bioinformatics and machine learning research group at the Department of Biochemistry, Microbiology & Immunology, Faculty of Medicine, University of Ottawa.

Our lab is also affiliated with the following institutions and departments, and welcomes students from these programs:

• Ottawa Hospital Research Institute

We use cutting edge artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning methods to solve the challenges in human health and disease. Towards this goal, we develop and apply computational tools for omics data analysis.

Our current major focus areas are:

• Personalized medicine in cancer
• Single-cell sequencing data analysis
• Drug repurposing
