Dr. Arvind Mer

Dr. Arvind Mer earned his Bachelor of Technology in biotechnology.
He graduated with a Master of Technology in computational and systems biology from
Jawaharlal Nehru University India .
He was awarded a Helmholtz Graduate School fellowship to pursue doctoral studies.
Dr. Mer earned a doctorate in bioinformatics and machine learning from the
Max Delbrück Center for Molecular Medicine Berlin, Germany at the
Miguel Andrade group.
He then went on to postdoctoral training at the
Karolinska Institutet Sweden at the
Mattias Rantalainen group.
Afterward, he became a postdoctoral fellow in the
Benjamin Haibe-Kains lab at the
Princess Margaret Cancer Centre Toronto.
In 2021, Dr. Mer established his own research group at the
University of Ottawa.
His research focuses on the integration and mining of high-throughput omics data using machine learning
in order to advance personalized medicine and a better understanding of disease.
